Preparing Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager for VCF 9

With the new announcement of VCF 9, I like many others, was ready and eager to upgrade my lab. As part of this there is a requirement to apply a patch to Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager to enable you to upgrade VCF Operations from 8.18 to 9.0 and install the new VCF Operations Fleet Management appliance. I knew there was an import option but not something I had ever actually used, so decided to try it out to see if it was as simple as I thought, it was! One thing that is worth checking before you start this process is that the root accounts aren’t expired or locked out and that you have the passwords stored as passwords in the Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager Locker, as you will need to reference these in the import wizard.

Upgrading vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager to Aria Suite Lifecycle

In April 2023, VMware vRealize Suite became VMware Aria. As part of this all the products moved to the new name and had new capabilities included. This includes, vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager becoming Aria Suite Lifecycle. Upgrading to 8.12 not only brings you the latest features and capabilities of the product, but is a prerequisite to upgrading the remaining products in the Suite, such as Aria Operations for Logs, formerly Log Insight.
